Forums: Index > Help desk > Using box shadow at Helix Wiki

Greetings,

I'm the bureaucrat at w:c:helix.

Helix was a dead site that w:c:helix:User:XD1, a Wikia staffer, converted to a Wiki for the upcoming Syfy series. I was allowed to adopt and decided I liked the work XD1 had done. What I want to do is roll all the box-shadow and border-radius statements into the class definition for infobox at w:c:helix:MediaWiki:Common.css. I've tried several times and have probably tried the same things more than once, but they never seem to "take" when I save the css and try to use the modified class. I DO go through the Ctrl-F5 process and even left the definition overnight once, thinking there might be some delay in the system actually picking up the definition. And, yeah, I'm flailing! You can check the history of my Common.css to see my abortive attempts. The current version of Common.css should be the default.

Part of this is wanting to make the code in templates simpler and part of it is just wanting to get smarter.

Maybe you need to use short words and "speak" slowly. <grin>

Thanks,
